The US Department of Commerce has revised antidumping duty rates on welded pipeline pipe products manufactured in South Korea from December 2017 to November 2018. The new duties ranged from 9.33-15.07%. However, Korean companies challenged the decision, citing flawed methodology in calculating the dumping margin.
The US Court of International Trade ruled in favor of the South Korean pipe makers in January 2022. The new duty rates were 1.12% for NEXTEEL, Husteel, and Hyundai Steel, while SeAH Steel was assessed zero duty. The revised duty rates were implemented 22 months later.
