US rebar imports decreased in March

According to the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), US rebar imports decreased on a monthly and annual basis.

39% m/o/m decrease

In March this year, US rebar imports decreased by 39% compared to February and 48% compared to the same month of the previous year to nearly 77,000 tons.

Imports from Algeria ranked first

Imports from Algeria amounted to about 40,000 tons, from Canada to about 13,200 tons and from Vietnam to about 11,000 tons.

Import value down by 57.7% y-o-y

In this period, the value of imports decreased by 40.4% on a monthly basis and 57.7% on an annual basis to approximately USD 54 million.
