The United States Department of Commerce (USDOC) has officially initiated the fifth sunset review concerning anti-dumping duty orders on clad steel plates imported from Japan. The review, conducted by the US International Trade Commission (USITC), aims to assess whether there is a continued threat of material injury to the domestic US steel industry if the existing anti-dumping order is revoked.
Companies and stakeholders involved in the trade of clad steel plates from Japan are now required to submit their responses to the USITC by the fast-approaching deadline of December 1, 2023. Furthermore, interested parties have an opportunity to express their opinions on the adequacy of the existing measures by filing comments, with a due date set for January 11, 2024.
This review will play a crucial role in determining the future of anti-dumping duties on clad steel plates originating in Japan, potentially impacting both the domestic industry and international trade relationships.
