The US imported around 66,000 tons of cut-to-length plates (CTL plate) in June, a 13% increase from the previous month and 68% from the same month a year ago, according to Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce.
South Korea accounted for the largest proportion, with 36,000 tons, a 136% month-on-month surge and a 77% y-o-y jump. Canada followed with 15,400 tons, followed by Australia with 5,000 tons. The import value was approximately US$80 million.
