US crude steel production increased

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), for the week ended 21 October, US crude steel production was 1.703 million short tonnes, up slightly by 0.5% w-o-w and 3.6% y-o-y. The capacity utilisation rate was 74.1%, up 0.3% on the week and 0.4% on the year.

For the week ended 21 October, US crude steel production stood at about 71.87 million short tonnes, down 1.0% y-o-y. The capacity utilisation rate was 75.8%, down 3% y-o-y.
