The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported a slight decrease in crude steel production in the week ending November 25, with a total of 1.687 million short tons produced. This is slightly higher than the previous week, but still slightly lower than the previous year.
The capacity utilization rate was 73.4%, down by 0.4% w-o-w but up by 1.9% y-o-y. As of November 25, adjusted year-to-date crude steel production was around 80.39 million short tons.
