US crude steel production decreased by 0.5% in the week ending September 9, while increasing by 2.2% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 75.7%, down by 0.3% week on week and by 0.7% y-o-y.
As of September 9, adjusted year-to-date production was around 61.57 million short tons, a 1.7% drop year-on-year, and the capacity utilization rate was 76.0%, a 3.4% reduction y-o-y.
