According to data obtained by SteelRadar from the US International Trade Administration (ITA), US steel imports from Canada have fluctuated throughout 2024.
The US reached its peak in January with 569,238 tons of steel imports from Canada. However, this amount decreased by 14.35% in February, falling to 487,516 tons.
In March, imports increased by 11.19%, reaching 542,089 tons. However, there was a decline starting from April.
Imports, which were 532,836 tons in April, fell to 521,098 tons in May, and this decline continued in the summer months.
Steel imports, which were 505,921 tons in June, fell to 491,691 tons in July, 453,338 tons in August, and 450,187 tons in September.
There was a slight increase in October, with imports increasing by 9.87% to 494,572 tons. However, there was a sharp decrease in imports in November, falling by 32.32% to 334,588 units.
