The Spanish steel association, UNESID, has announced the appointment of Carola Hermoso as its new general director. Hermoso will take over from Andrés Barceló, who has held the position since July 2009.
According to a statement by the association, "Barceló will continue in his role until January to ensure a smooth transition and will serve as an advisor to the Unesid Council until June 2025."
Hermoso is currently the executive chief of the Spanish Galvanizers Association (ATEG) and the chair of the environment and safety committee of the European Galvanizers Association. Additionally, Hermoso's career includes serving in various roles at Unesid related to environment, institutional relations, sustainability, and corporate areas between September 2008 and October 2019.
