This figure increased by 2.1% to 2.55 million tonnes compared to February 2023. Revenue from iron ore exports in February totalled $256.83 million, 13.2% lower than in the previous month. However, it was 2 times more than in February 2023.
In January-February 2024, Ukraine exported 5.66 million tonnes of iron ore, up 2.6% compared to the same period a year earlier. Revenue from exports increased by 2.3 per cent to $552.82 million.
China remains the main export destination for Ukrainian mining and metallurgical enterprises, accounting for 40.3% of total exports in monetary terms. Slovakia (7.2 per cent) and Poland (11.5 per cent) are also among its important partners.
At the beginning of the war, China became the main export destination for Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises, with more than 30 million tonnes being shipped there. In addition, the opening of the sea corridor in August 2023, which facilitated trade with this country, also contributed to this.
