In an interview with Bloomberg TV, Zuyudi stated that they see Turkey as a country that will open new markets to the UAE through logistics services and supply chains.
Stating that his country aims to double or triple the trade volume with Turkey, Zuyudi noted that the UAE expects to benefit from Turkey's large investments in the industrial sector, qualified workforce and logistics network especially with the African continent.
Pointing out that the UAE government is in the process of finalizing trade agreements with Israel and India, Minister Zuyudi said that the agreement to be made with one of the countries in question is expected to be announced within two months.
Abu Dhabi administration's efforts to increase the trade volume with Turkey are seen as the most obvious evidence of the convergence of relations between the two countries.
In 2021, the UAE announced that it plans to deepen its trade relations with the fast-growing Asian and African economies and attract $150 billion in foreign direct investment.
According to a report by the UAE Ministry of Economy, total non-oil trade with Turkey over the past ten years amounted to approximately 329 billion dirhams (89.6 billion dollars).
According to the same report, non-oil trade between the two countries increased by 21 percent to 32.7 billion dirhams ($ 8.9 billion) in 2020, compared to 26.8 billion dirhams (7.3 billion dollars) in 2019.
