Turkiye's steel map

Turkiye is an important player in steel production, ranking 8th worldwide and 2nd in Europe. The steel map of the country stands out as a subject that everyone interested in the iron and steel industry should take a look at.

Turkiye's steel map

Although 2023 faces some challenges for Turkiye's steel map, the country has never lost its commitment to steel production. Turkiye's steel production is spread from east to west and from north to south. When we look at the steel map of Turkiye, there are 41 crude steel production facilities, 3 integrated facilities, 27 electric arc furnaces and 11 induction furnaces.

We have compiled Turkiye's steel map for you, which includes the important players of the iron and steel industry.

TEKIRDAĞ

Kaptan Demir Çelik is a pioneer in the production of internationally certified iron and steel. It draws attention with its 1.400.000 tonnes/year billet capacity steel mill and 3 rolling mills.

KOCAELI

Çolakoğlu is a major producer with an annual production capacity of 3.5 million metric tonnes of hot rolled steel.

Diler Demir Çelik is a major player in the sector with an annual liquid steel capacity of 1,300,000 tonnes.

Kroman Çelik, operating under Yücel Group, has been in the sector since the 1950s. With 8 companies, 5 production facilities and a large workforce, it has the widest product range in Turkiye's steel sector.

Sıddık Kardeşler entered the iron and steel industry in 1967 and started rebar production in Gebze, Kocaeli. The company, which also manufactures billets, plays an important role in the sector.

ÇANAKKALE

İçdaş has been producing construction steel and alloy steel since 1970. It is the second largest steel producer in Turkiye's steel map.

BİLECİK

Bilecik Demir Çelik is one of the only steel production centres in the surrounding provinces with an annual production of 300,000 tonnes of ribbed structural steel. It stands out as an environmentally friendly and highly efficient steel producer.

BOLU

Ilamet Metal was established in 2014 with the aim of drawing rebar and producing steel.

BURSA

Asil Çelik produces alloy steel for automotive, machinery manufacturing, energy sector. It has increased its capacity over the years and offers quality products.

Çemtaş provides services in the field of qualified steel. It also produces balance bars for automotive main industry companies.

IZMIR

Çebitaş manufactures various steel products with its large production facilities located in Izmir.

EDE

Ege Çelik operates in İzmir Aliağa with an annual production capacity of 2,000,000 tonnes of liquid steel and 1,200,000 tonnes of rebar.

In addition to industrial gas production and steel production, HABAŞ also distributes energy products such as LNG, CNG and LPG.

İzmir D.Ç, İzmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş., continues its annual production of 1,500,000 tonnes of liquid steel and 1,000,000 tonnes of ribbed rebar.

Aliağa Demir Çelik, a rolling mill located in Aliağa, produces various steel products.

Kar-demir, Kardemir has rolling mills in Izmir and Denizli.

As of 2014, Kılıçlar produces steel billets and construction steel at its iron and steel plants located in Hatay Payas and İzmir Aliağa regions.

Özkan Demir Çelik Sanayi was established in 1953 in İzmir- Aliağa iron and steel region with an area of 460.000m2. The steel mill has an annual production capacity of 1.000.000 tonnes and the rolling mill has an annual production capacity of 700.000 tonnes.

Sider

ZONGULDAK

Erdemir was established to meet the flat steel needs of Turkish industry. It produces products at international standards.

BARTIN

Mescier started trading iron and steel products in the 1960s and grew internationally.

KARABUK

Alter Demir-Çelik operates as an important producer in Karabük Organised Industrial Zone.

Aygünsan was established in 1992 to produce high quality and special steels and has increased its production capacity over the years.

Kardemir : The foundations of Kardemir, Turkiye's first integrated iron and steel factory, were laid on 3 April 1937 by İsmet İnönü, the Prime Minister of the time, as one of the national industrialisation moves of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic. On 10 September 1939, the first Turkish iron was produced.

KIRIKKALE

Kırdemir operates to meet Turkiye's need for high quality rebar by producing steel.

MKEK, the Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) Joint Stock Company, which is the pioneer of the Turkish defence industry, has a long history dating back to the 15th century Ottoman Empire under various names and statuses. The core of the institution is the Cannon Foundry established by Fatih Sultan Mehmet Khan after the conquest of Istanbul.

SAMSUN

Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik stands out as an important steel producer in the Black Sea region.

SIVAS

Sivas Demir Çelik is one of the cities playing an important role in Turkiye's iron and steel industry. Sivas D.Ç, located in Sivas, has been a prominent company in the production of high quality iron and steel for years.

OSMANIYE

Osmaniye is another province where the iron and steel industry is growing and developing. Here are the important iron and steel producers in Osmaniye:

Baştuğ Metalurji, which makes growth through technological investments and quality production a reflex, operates in Osmaniye Organised Industrial Zone. With a turnover of more than 1 billion dollars and 700 thousand m2 of facilities, Baştuğ Metallurgy attracts attention. It also has a telescopic type electric arc furnace, the first of its kind in the world.

Koç Metalurji, Koç Metalurji A.Ş., which started its business life in the iron and steel sector in 1993, has a steel mill in Osmaniye Organised Industrial Zone with an annual liquid steel capacity of 1.2 million tonnes.

Platinum, established in 2000, is active in the production of billet iron.

Tosçelik produces industrial pipes and profile bars in the İskenderun Industrial Zone. Turkiye's largest capacity spiral pipe plant is also located in this region.

HATAY

Here are the important iron and steel producers in Hatay:

EEY Demir Çelik: Located in the Organised Industrial Zone of Payas District, EEY Demir Çelik has an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tonnes of steel billets and rebar.

Cansın Metalürji: Operating in Osmaniye Organised Industrial Zone, Cansın Metalürji stands out with its ribbed rebar production capacity.

Ersan Metalurji: Ersan Metalurji manufactures steel structures and poles used in the electricity transmission and telecommunication sectors.

Ekinciler: Ekinciler Holding started iron and steel production in the 1960s and contributed to Turkiye's national development movement.

İsdemir: İsdemir is one of the largest integrated iron and steel plants in Turkiye. With a hot rolling capacity of 3.5 million tonnes/year, it produces long and flat products.

Kılıçlar 2

MMK Metalurji, one of the largest industrial enterprises in Turkiye, is a leading manufacturer of hot rolled, galvanised and prepainted flat steel products.

Yazici Demir Celik: Yazıcı Demir Çelik manufactures high quality rebar in a modern steel mill facility in İskenderun/Sariseki. The plant is built on a total open area of 137,817 m2 and has a closed area of 41,350 m2 .

These iron and steel producers contribute to the growth and development of Turkiye's iron and steel industry.
