According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's scrap imports in February decreased by 4.97% compared to the same month of the previous year, from 1 million 621 thousand tons to 1 million 540 thousand 732 tons. It decreased by 4.34% compared to the previous month, January.
Total scrap imports in the January-February period decreased by 12.9% from 3 million 466 thousand 313 tons to 3 million 17 thousand 315 tons.
During the month in question, the Netherlands, Belgium and the USA ranked in the top 3 in Turkey's scrap imports. Scrap imports from the Netherlands amounted to 355,195 tons, followed by Belgium with 252,645 tons, the US with 216,825 tons, the United Kingdom with 106,024 tons and Lithuania with 80,417 tons.
