Türkiye's pig iron imports increased by 111.6% in February

SteelRadar data compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) showed that Türkiye's pig iron imports in February 2024 increased by 111.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, rising from 80,309 tons to 169,953 tons.

This figure was 48.4% higher than January, the previous month.

Total pig iron imports in the January-February period increased by 52.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, rising from 186,676 tons to 284,489 tons.

During the same month, imports from Russia, which ranked first among Türkiye's pig iron importing countries, increased by 76.3% from 64,708.3 tons to 114,052.4 tons. Russia was followed by India with 35,200 tons and South Africa with 16,500 tons.
