Türkiye's pig iron imports in May decreased by 35.9% annually, but increased by 45.5% on a monthly basis.
According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's pig iron imports in May 2024 decreased by 35.9% compared to the same month of the previous year, experiencing a decline from 175,949 tons to 112,805 tons.
This figure increased by 45.5% compared to the previous month, April. Total pig iron imports in the January-April period increased by 0.3% compared to the same period of the previous year, rising from 641,292 tons to 643,407 tons.
In terms of the countries from which Türkiye imported pig iron in that month, Russia topped the list with 73,327 tons, followed by Kazakhstan with 19,308 tons and Ukraine with 10,131 tons. Here are the countries from which Türkiye imported pig iron in May:
