Türkiye's iron ore imports decreased by 18.72% in January

Türkiye's iron ore imports in January 2024 decreased by 18.72% compared to the same month of the previous year.

According to the information compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data, Türkiye's iron ore imports decreased by 18.72% compared to the same month of the previous year and decreased to 649,360 tons. It decreased by 29.92% compared to December 2023.

Brazil takes first place in the import rankings

The country from which Türkiye imported the most iron ore was Brazil. 416.834 tons of iron ore were imported from Brazil in January 2024. This figure has fallen by 26.4% compared to the previous year. While there were no iron ore imports from Canada, the second-placed country, last year, 77,719 tons were imported in January this year. Imports from Ukraine increased by 150.6%, reaching 75,186 tons. In the same month last year, this figure was 30,008 tons. Imports from South Africa increased by 20 tons to 70,040 tons. In December, this figure was 20 tons.
