According to the preliminary foreign trade data compiled by SteelRadar analysts from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Undersecretariat of Customs, Türkiye's iron and steel import value in August increased by 2.9% y-o-y to USD 1.97 billion.
In that month, the import value of iron and steel ranked fifth on the list of the country's products with the highest import value.
In the January-August period of this year, it decreased by 10.6% y-o-y to 15.6 billion USD.
In that month, the import value of iron or steel products ranked 14th in the list of the country's products with the highest import value.
In August, the import value of iron or steel products decreased by 6.9% yoy to 317.88 million USD, while in the first eight months of the year it increased by 1.3% yoy to 2.76 billion USD.
