The February results of the Construction Materials Industry Foreign Trade Index prepared by the Association of Turkish Construction Material Producers (Türkiye IMSAD) were announced. Accordingly, exports of the construction materials industry increased by 11.1 percent on an annual basis in February to 2.36 billion dollars. The amount of exports in the said month was 3.62 million tons. The unit export value per kilogram of the construction materials industry decreased to 0.65 dollars in February.
As of February, exports of construction materials for the last 12 months amounted to 29.31 billion dollars.
Construction material imports also increased by 4.3 percent in February compared to the same period of the previous year to 931 million dollars, while the import unit price was recorded as 3.33 dollars.
Exports increased in all 8 sub-product groups
According to the report, exports increased in value in all 8 sub-product groups included in the index. The increase in exports was 53.1 percent in prefabricated structures, 19 percent in iron and steel products, 15.9 percent in insulation materials, 15.7 percent in wood and timber, 12 percent in chemical-based products, 7.5 percent in mineral, stone and soil products, 5.5 percent in electrical materials and equipment, and 0.7 percent in metal-based products.
In February, export unit value decreased in all 8 sub-product groups.
