The World Steel Association (Worldsteel) shared crude steel production data for March 2025. Türkiye's crude steel production in March decreased by 2.8% y/y to 3.1 million tons.
In the January-March 2025 period, total production decreased by 3.4% compared to the same period of 2024, from 9.5 million tons to 9.3 million tons.
Türkiye maintained its 7th place in the world crude steel production ranking despite a 2.8% decrease in March. The production figure of China, the world's largest steel producer, which ranked first, increased by 4.6% to 92.8 million tons.
Global crude steel production increased by 2.9% compared to the same period of March 2024 and reached 166.1 million tons.
