According to the results of the consumer tendency survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT), consumer confidence index decreased in April.
The consumer confidence index, which was measured at 85.9 in March, decreased by 2.3% to 83.9 in April. Thus, the index entered a downward trend again after two months of increase.
Consumer confidence index is considered as an important indicator on the spending tendencies of households by reflecting the expectations regarding the economic situation.
