According to data compiled by SteelRadar analysts from the Turkish Statistical Institute (“TUIK”), Turkiye's billet and bloom imports in May decreased by 49.8% compared to the same month of the previous year, from 309,156 tons to 155,340 tons.
This figure was down 77.6% compared to the previous month, April. In April, 275,881 tons of imports were realized.
Turkiye's total billet and bloom imports in the January-May period decreased by 32.1% yearly to 1,154,332 tons from 1,700,023 tons.
Turkiye imported the most from Malaysia with 66,703.7 tons, followed by Russia with 30,007.1 tons, Iran with 12,261.2 tons, Ukraine with 9,977.5 tons and Azerbaijan with 9,627.7 tons.
