"Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar made various statements in line with the aim of taking the cooperation between Türkiye and Libya to a further level in the energy sector. Minister Bayraktar, who made evaluations in Tripoli after the Libya Energy and Economy Summit, said that this visit will further increase the activities in the energy field." He stated that it aims to strengthen and consolidate the strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Bayraktar stated that Türkiye wants to play an active role in Libya's maritime areas within the scope of the maritime jurisdiction agreement signed in recent years. In this context, he stated that Türkiye can operate in sea areas cost-effectively and quickly by using its own ships.

Emphasizing Libya's rich energy resources, Minister Bayraktar stated that the country's oil and natural gas potential as well as mineral resources are very rich. However, he emphasized that stability is needed in order to utilize these resources in a sustainable manner.

Stating that they are ready to share Türkiye 's experiences in the energy sector with Libya, Minister Bayraktar announced that Turkish companies will take action to provide technical support to Libya, especially regarding the solar energy potential. He also stated that Türkiye could support Libya on issues such as energy infrastructure, electricity transmission and distribution systems.

Minister Bayraktar stated that they aim to strengthen Türkiye 's cooperation in the fields of energy, oil, natural gas, mining and other electricity in Libya through Turkish private sector companies and state companies, and that the work carried out in these areas will be further strengthened with the Agreement on the Limitation of Maritime Jurisdiction Areas signed in 2019. He stated that it has gained importance. He emphasized that the cooperation was established on a legal basis with the memorandum of understanding in the field of hydrocarbons signed last year.

Finally, Minister Bayraktar encouraged the Turkish private sector to make more investments in Libya to contribute to Libya's energy infrastructure and projects and invited Turkish companies in the region to operate in the energy sector in Libya."
