Türkiye signs important mining agreements with Kyrgyzstan and Djibouti

The mining agreements signed between Türkiye and the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Djibouti were published in the Official Gazette.

Türkiye signs important mining agreements with Kyrgyzstan and Djibouti

The “Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Field of Mining” signed between Türkiye and the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on September 10, 2021 in Bishkek was approved and published in the Official Gazette. This memorandum aims to develop scientific, technical, technological and legal cooperation between the two countries in the field of mining.

Within the scope of the memorandum of understanding, the parties will carry out various collaborations in the field of mining in accordance with their national laws and regulations. These include human resources training, organizing training programs in geological survey and mineral exploration, developing technologies for the development of mineral resources in accordance with the highest standards of safety and environmental protection, and raising public awareness.

Cooperation with Djibouti in Mining and Geology

The “Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Mining and Geology between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the Republic of Djibouti” signed in Ankara on August 24, 2021 between Türkiye and the Republic of Djibouti, an East African country, was approved and published in the Official Gazette.

This agreement provides a framework to strengthen cooperation between Türkiye and Djibouti in the fields of mining and geology. Within the scope of the memorandum of understanding, cooperation will be made in areas such as improving the relationship between professionals of the mining sector, sharing knowledge, expertise and experience, organizing training programs on mineral exploration, geological studies, developing trade in mineral products and promoting partnerships between the mining sectors of the two countries.
