Turkish steel producers have further increased their prices this week due to the continuing rise in scrap prices. Yesterday, iron prices at iron and steel factories were announced at $580-595/ton exw, while when the factories were approached with a purchase request, the price offers were $10 below the quoted price.
Scrap prices in the Turkish local market have also started to rise. Many producers, including Çolakoğlu, Diler, Kroman, Sıddık Kardeşler and Baştuğ, increased their local scrap prices by $300/ton.
Turkish shipbreaking scrap rose by an average of $6/ton compared to the previous week and reached $361/ton.
