The Composite Index, which increased by 0.43 compared to the previous month due to the determination in economic policies and political support activities, increased to 71.97 points. In August, the Activity Index increased by 2.1 to 143.1 points due to the positive contribution of seasonality. Confidence Index decreased by 0.20 to 33.74 points.
According to the Construction Material Industry Composite Index report, which is announced every month by the Turkish Construction Material Industrialists' Association (IMSAD), it is possible to see that the determination to change in economic policies and the support for the sector increased in August.
Exports increased in August
According to the report, in August, uncertainties regarding economic policies decreased to a great extent and the determination in the fight against inflation in Turkiye had a positive impact on activities.
Domestic sales remained unchanged in August compared to July. Tight monetary policy had positive effects. Despite the slowdown in markets, exports increased in August. Seasonality continued to make a positive contribution. Significant expansion was also recorded in turnovers. The reason for the increase in production was the minimisation of post-election uncertainties. The report emphasised that the construction materials industry will continue to be determined by the economic policies at home and the slowdown at abroad.
