The Turkish Ministry of Trade announced the final findings of the investigation into imports of hot rolled non-coil thick plates originating from South Korea covering the period between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023. According to the assessments made, it was concluded that thick plates imported from South Korean producers were dumped and caused serious damage to the Turkish local sector.
The investigation report emphasized that imports of thick plates from South Korea increased by 62% between 2021 and 2023, and the share of these products in overall imports of thick plate to Türkiye increased from 19% to 23%.
Regarding the dumping margins, the rates calculated as a percentage of the CIF value were determined as follows 4.37% for POSCO, 4.34% for Hyundai Steel and 9.40% for other South Korean producers.
Following these determinations, the report will be submitted to the opinions of the relevant parties and after receiving the opinions, the final determinations will be submitted to the Unfair Competition in Imports Evaluation Board together with the evaluations.
