According to foreign trade data compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) and the Undersecretariat of Customs, wire rod exports decreased by 23%, 48%, 78%, 69% and 58%, respectively, in the first five months of the year compared to the same period last year.
February was at the top in the January-May period of the year
In February this year, wire rod exports increased by 11% compared to the first month of the year, rising from 46 thousand tons to 51 thousand tons.
In March, wire rod exports decreased by 36% compared to the previous month to 33 thousand tons. In April, it decreased by 5% compared to March.
In May, Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 42% compared to the previous month
Despite this, Turkey's wire rod exports in May remained behind January and February.
Moreover, it decreased by 58% compared to May last year, from 106 thousand tons to 44 thousand tons.
