Turkey's steel import value decreased by 19.21% in the January - May period of 2023 compared to the same period last year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
In the first month of 2023, Turkey's steel imports decreased by 35.20% compared to the same month of 2022, from $2 billion 684 million to $1 billion 739 million.

Compared to the 2nd month of 2022, Turkey's steel imports in the same month of 2023 decreased by 39.3% to $1 billion 621 million from $2 billion 670 million.
In March, Turkish steel imports increased by 1.07% compared to the same month of last year
Turkey's steel imports in March 2022 increased to $2 billion 613 million from $2 billion 586 million in March 2022 compared to the same month of the same year in 2022, approaching the February 2022 price by 2%, which increased imports by far.
Compared to April 2022, April of this year decreased by 15.9% from $2 billion 889 million to $2 billion 429 million
Turkey's steel imports peaked in May 2023 with a 17.4 per cent increase compared to the previous month.
In April this year, the price of steel imports decreased by 7% compared to March.
