Sources suggest that Türkiye's newly imposed anti-dumping (AD) duties on Indian hot-rolled coils (HRC) are unlikely to have a significant impact on India's export volumes, primarily because the current export volume of HRC to Türkiye is minimal.
Starting from October 11, Türkiye has introduced tariffs ranging from 6.1% to 43.31% on imports from various countries, including India, China, Russia, and Japan. Notably, India faces relatively lower tariffs compared to its counterparts, which may mitigate the potential impact on export prices.
In 2022, India’s HRC exports to Türkiye peaked at over 860,000 tons; however, this figure has drastically declined since then. As a result, the new tariffs are expected to have little effect on the overall trade dynamics between the two countries.
