Turkey's crude steel production fell in November

Turkey's crude steel production decreased by 30.7% in November 2022. The production decreased by 12,3% to 32,5 million tons in the 11 months of the previous year. Turkey fell to tenth place in November.

Turkey's crude steel production in November 2022 decreased by 30.7% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 2,4 million tons.

Turkish Steel Producers Association (TÇÜD) announced steel production, consumption and foreign trade data for November 2022.

Accordingly, Turkey's crude steel production decreased by 30.7% to 2.4 million tons in November 2022 compared to the same month of the previous year.  The production decreased by 12,3 percent to 32,5 million tons in the 11 months of the previous year.

Finished steel consumption in November last year was 2.4 million tons with a decrease of 17.1% compared to the same month of 2021, and 29.5 million tons with a decrease of 4.3% in the January-November period.

In November 2022, exports of steel products amounted to 885 thousand tons with a decrease of 40.4% in terms of quantity, and 771 million dollars with a decrease of 46.5% in terms of value.

In the January-November period of last year, compared to the same period of 2021, exports were recorded as 14.5 million tons with a decrease of 19.9%, and 13.3 billion dollars with a decrease of 10.4% in value.

Compared to the same month of 2021, the import of steel products in November was 1.1 million tons with a decrease of 7.5% in terms of quantity and 1 billion dollars with a decrease of 24.5% in terms of value.

In the 11 months of the previous year, imports were calculated as 13.6 million tons with a decrease of 4% in terms of quantity and 14.5 billion dollars with an increase of 10.8% in terms of value compared to the same period of the previous year.

While the share of imports in steel products consumption was 30.6%, the share of imports in flat product consumption reached 49.2%. The ratio of exports to imports, which was 114% in the January-November period of 2021, decreased to 92% in the same period of this year.
