Dingsen Steel, a subsidiary of China's Tsingshan Group, said recently that it has increased the number of workers on site at its Manhize steel mill in Mvuma, Zimbabwe, and is now working to start production by December.
The project is progressing rapidly, but a prolonged power outage is making it difficult to complete welding works smoothly.
The steel plant is estimated to produce about 1.2 million tonnes of steel a year and employ about 10,000 people at its peak.
