At a press conference dedicated to the release of July’s foreign trade figures, Minister Bolat stated, "As of July, Türkiye's annualized exports have reached a record high of USD 261.5 billion, representing a increased by 3.4% compared to the same period in the previous year, setting a new record for the Republic."
Minister Bolat continued, “With the regulations we have implemented, our economy is growing by 5.4% annually. Türkiye has joined the ranks of countries with a national income exceeding USD 1 trillion. Our per capita national income has risen to USD 13,110, and reaching USD 14-15,000 is no longer a dream. In July, the foreign trade deficit decreased by 42.3% to USD 7.2 billion.” He extended his gratitude to exporters.
Noting they aim to reach $267 billion in December barring any unexpected developments, Ömer Bolat said, “Following these records, there is more good news. The trend of import reduction continues. Imports decreased by 8% in July. While we are continuing with imports that Türkiye needs, we are taking serious measures against imports that could put our industry in a difficult situation. As a result of these efforts, we saved USD 2.6 billion in monthly imports and kept total imports below USD 30 billion. The foreign trade deficit decreased by 42% to USD 7.2 billion.”
