Trade Minister Ömer Bolat stated, "Considering that our national income was 230 billion dollars in 2002, if I say that we exceeded 1 trillion 118 billion dollars last year, this is a proof that the national income has increased approximately four and a half times. In other words, it means that four and a half Turkish economies have been added to one Turkish economy in terms of production."
At the meeting with the business world held at the Çorlu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bolat emphasized that the large number of organized industrial zones are important indicators showing Türkiye's transformation.
Expressing that Türkiye continues to grow, Bolat continued, "Considering that our national income was 230 billion dollars in 2002, if I say that we exceeded 1 trillion 118 billion dollars last year, this is evidence that the national income has increased about four and a half times. In other words, four and a half Turkish economies have been added to one Turkish economy in terms of production. This did not happen by itself. It happened with political stability. It happened with strong political stability and strong economic management. Our people see this. And because our people see this, they gave us 17 election victories. Thank God. Our people always honor those who work, produce and serve the people."
Bolat pointed out that the welfare level of the people has increased in developing and growing Türkiye and that the national income, which was 3 thousand 608 dollars in 2002, has increased four times as 13 thousand 110 dollars last year.
Bolat said that in the last 20 years, between 1 million and 1 million 400 thousand apartments have been sold in Türkiye on average annually, and concluded as follows:
"These apartments are not bought by Europeans or outsiders. Our people buy them. In 2002, there were 7 million vehicles in Türkiye, 4 million of which were automobiles, whereas now there are 27 million registered vehicles, 15 and a half million of which are automobiles. These vehicles are on our roads. We already see traffic jams. 30 thousand kilometers of double roads were built. Thousands of kilometers of highways have been built. Thousands of kilometers of high speed trains are being built. 400 tunnels and viaducts were built. Tube crossings were built. Dozens of big bridges were built. Why are these being built? To increase trade. They were built so that our citizens can travel easily, go to work, go to their hometowns, go to trade, go on vacation."
Stating that Trakya is the gateway of Türkiye to Europe and the world, Bolat added.
Emphasizing that 45 percent of the exports of Türkiye are made through the customs in the region, Bolat said, "45 percent of Türkiye's exports pass through Çorlu, Tekirdağ, Edirne, Kırklareli. This brings great value to our cities. Business, trade, logistics, Türkiye's logistics sector has reached 100 billion dollars, dear friends. The money and foreign currency we earn from logistics has reached 40 billion dollars."
Indicating that Türkiye's exports are 256 billion dollars and 94 percent of this is industrial products, Bolat said that the products are sold to countries such as European countries, the USA and Canada.
Bolat stated that important countries prefer Türkiye for exports due to the high quality of its products, and that the country exports 12 thousand products.
Explaining that Türkiye continues to produce, invest, export and earn foreign currency, Bolat said:
"We have an energy bill of 97 billion dollars in 2022 and 69 billion dollars in 2023. Industry is growing, the country is growing and developing. Twenty years ago, there were no air conditioners in homes, no air conditioners in workplaces. Now there is air conditioning everywhere. How does air conditioning work? It works with electricity. How will we produce this electricity? We produce it with natural gas, coal, wind, sun, hydraulic water, geothermal. One of the most important indicators of a country's development is electricity production. Look friends, our annual electricity production has increased from 90 billion kilowatt-hours in 2002 to 330 billion kilowatt-hours in 20 years."
Expressing that Türkiye has successfully overcome important crises, Bolat said that they will overcome the problems by working together.
