Tosyalı to build SPP worth TL 1.8 billion in Osmaniye

Tosyalı Demir Çelik plans to build a solar power plant with a capacity of 88 MWe in Osmaniye with an investment of TL 1 billion 803 million to meet its energy needs. The project will be built in Toprakkale district of Osmaniye province and the electricity generated will be offset by the energy consumed by the company in its production processes.

Tosyalı will build the SPP on a 147-hectare area designated as Cebelibereket Erzin Energy Specialized Industrial Zone in order to achieve its global targets for green steel production.

A total of 179,452 solar panels (730 Wp) will be installed for the investment, whose economic life is estimated at 25 years. The power plant will have an annual electricity generation capacity of 245 million kWh.

The construction and assembly process of the project is expected to take 17 months. In this process, it is aimed to employ 80 people and 25 people when the power plant is operational.

The electricity generated will be offset against Tosyalı Demir Çelik's energy consumption in accordance with the Unlicensed Electricity Generation Regulation.
