Tosyalı Holding rises five places in the ranking of world steel producers

According to the data announced by the World Steel Association, Tosyalı Holding ranked 77th in the world by rising five places in crude steel production in 2022. With the Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant, which has just started its first production and will eliminate Turkey's 4 million tons of flat steel imports, Tosyalı will increase its production capacity to 10 million tons and is taking firm steps towards its goal of being among the world's top 50 steel producers.

Tosyalı Holding rises five places in the ranking of world steel producers

Tosyalı Holding, Turkey's global steel producer, continues to make a name for itself all over the world with its nearly 40 facilities on 3 continents and approximately 15 thousand employees.

Tosyalı Holding is on its way to becoming one of the world's leading companies in quality steel production with the steps it has taken by making sustainability the main agenda item. With its innovative green steel products developed through R&D, technology and innovation, new facility investments that create a global impact, highly competent human resources and strong capital structure, Tosyalı continues its steady rise in world steel production.

In 2022, a period of post-pandemic stabilization in the world steel industry, Tosyalı Holding managed to become one of the most remarkable groups in the world with its power in production. According to the 2022 world crude steel production figures announced by the World Steel Association in a special publication every year, Tosyalı Holding increased its crude steel production to 4.71 million tons in 2022, jumping five places compared to 2021 and ranking 77th in the world ranking.

Target to be among the top 50 in the world with new qualified steel investments

Stating that Tosyalı Holding continues its global growth with its investments in qualified steel production in line with its sustainability-focused business strategy, Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, said: "As the world enters an era of green transformation with the Paris Climate Agreement and the EU Green Deal, the steel industry assumes a great responsibility as one of the leading players in this process. As Tosyalı Holding, we have set sustainability as the agenda for the next 5 years. In this context, we are making many investments focused on technology, innovation, circular economy and the use of renewable energy sources such as solar and hydrogen. With these investments that will make us one of the world's leading green steel producers, we continue to increase not only our capacity but, more importantly, our production of high quality steel with high added value. Although 2022 is a difficult year for the world's steel producers, we, as Tosyalı Holding, have maintained our strength in this process by responding to the demand for quality steel with the investments we have made so far. The fact that we have risen five places in world crude steel production is the most concrete proof of this. When Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Facility and Tosyalı Algérie 4th stage investment are completed, we will further increase our qualified steel production capacity and reach our goal of being among the top 50 companies in the world ranking."

15 million tons capacity target with worldwide investments

Tosyalı Holding carries out global business with its plants in Osmaniye and İskenderun in Turkey and Tosyalı Algerie in Oran, Algeria. With nearly 40 percent of its total sales revenues coming from exports, Tosyalı Holding has also accelerated its investments in qualified steel production. Tosyalı Demir Çelik Sarıseki Plant, one of Turkey's largest industrial investments, which has just started its first production, will eliminate Turkey's 4 million tons of flat steel imports. The facility, which is a green steel production center, will also be one of Turkey's exemplary facilities in value-added exports. Tosyalı Holding is also building a new DRI plant with the highest technology and a flat steel plant with a production capacity of 4 million tons/year in front of it within the scope of the 4th stage investments in Tosyalı Algerie. When all investments in Algeria are completed, Tosyalı Algerie will be one of the most important and strategic iron and steel production centers not only in the Mediterranean and Africa, but also in the world. Tosyalı Holding aims to reach an annual steel production capacity of 15 million tons in the next few years with its investments in Turkey, Algeria, Senegal and Angola.
