Tosyalı Algerie becomes a role model for the world steel industry

The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, Fatih Dönmez, and his delegation visited Tosyalı Algerie facilities within the scope of the visit to Algeria due to the roundtable meeting of Turkey-Algeria cooperation in the fields of Energy and Mining held within the scope of the 11th Term Meeting of the Turkey-Algeria Joint Economic Commission (KEK). Fuat Tosyalı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tosyalı Holding, whose views are included in the statement, stated that Tosyalı Algerie, the first investment of the company abroad, on the basis of all global successes of Tosyalı Holding, is Algeria's largest private sector investment, "Today, in non-hydro-carbon sectors. Our Tosyalı Algerie facilities, one of the country's largest exporters and one of the strongest employment-creating companies, are one of the leading integrated facilities not only in Africa but also in Europe in the use of high technology and the most efficient production in the world in terms of energy use. We do not only focus on economic investments in the countries we operate. For every country we visit, we strive to create values ​​specific to that geography. We make transparent investments institutionally, and we always see contributing to the country's economy as a priority."

Thanks to its (DRI) technology, Tosyalı Algerie is among the facilities that produce the greenest and most environmentally friendly steel in the world. The first phase of Tosyalı Algerie, whose foundations were laid in 2011, was completed in 2013, the second phase in 2015 and the third phase in 2018. Tosyalı Algerie, which hosts the world's largest DRI production facilities with an annual capacity of 2.5 million tons, and the world's largest arc furnace working with DRI, broke the world record by reaching a production figure of 2.23 million tons in 2020. Tosyalı Algerie, whose fourth stage investment continues, will turn into an industrial facility with a flat and long product capacity of 8.5 million tons, of which 7.5 million tons will be from an integrated mining facility, when all stages are completed. Tosyalı Holding, a group with international knowledge in its management and operation, also continues its investments in port management. In addition to the existing port operation in Turkey in Iskenderun and the planned port investment in Erzin, Tosyalı also has a large port investment in Algeria. Tosyalı operates the country's largest port in Algeria, where even 200 thousand DWT vessels can dock. Thanks to the 12 km conveyor belt system, which is one of the longest lines in Europe, 4 thousand tons of transportation can be made per hour from the port to the factory without using any vehicle.
