TIM announced the champions of the 344 billion dollar exports

Mustafa Gültepe, the President of TIM (Turkish Exporters Assembly), stated that Turkey has increased its goods and services exports by 66 percent in the last three years. He said, "We have raised our goods exports from 169 billion dollars to 254 billion dollars, and our services exports from 38 billion dollars to 90 billion dollars. What we used to achieve in one year of exports in 1983, we now accomplish in just one week."

TIM announced the champions of the 344 billion dollar exports

The 30th General Assembly of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) and the 'Champions of Export' award ceremony were held in Istanbul with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and ministers. The awards were presented by President Erdoğan to the top 10 companies contributing the highest value to the $254 billion worth of goods exports in 2022 and the overall service export champion in Turkey.

Mustafa Gültepe, the President of TIM, stated in his speech at the ceremony that the export family has achieved great success under the leadership of President Erdoğan. Gültepe reported that in the past 21 years, goods exports have increased by 6 times and service exports by 5 times, saying:

"In just the past 3 years, we have increased our goods exports from $169 billion to $254 billion and our service exports from $38 billion to $90 billion. Our goods and service exports have grown by 66% in 3 years. In 1983, it took us a year to achieve what we now accomplish in a week. All of this has been possible through determination, stability, perseverance, and struggle. We have left no country, no region unexplored. We are among the largest suppliers in many countries. Behind all these achievements, there are the supports provided by our government to exporters and the rapid action mechanism. The establishment of the Export Development Corporation has contributed significantly to resolving the issue of collateral. The century-old Turkish Trade Bank now belongs to exporters. We will start our work with the bank as soon as possible to finance our exports and projects. The dynamics of trade are constantly changing. We are also not standing still; we are constantly renewing ourselves. We are working to reach new markets and new customers. Under the coordination of our Ministry of Trade, we organized 120 international delegations and participated in 206 fairs abroad in the first 6 months of the year."

Gültepe emphasized that as exports increase, they are experiencing a process where new solutions need to be generated. He mentioned the need for reducing production costs to strengthen their position in the competitive struggle, highlighting the importance of energy costs for industrialists. He also expressed the demand for new discounts for exporters despite the consecutive discounts made since the beginning of the year. Gültepe mentioned the need for an increase in the support program for the minimum wage, which will end in June, and the rising financial needs due to the increasing demand and large investments. He expressed confidence in the support of President Erdoğan for increasing access to finance and raising rediscount credit limits. Gültepe also expressed hope for the resolution of the visa issue with Europe and the US based on President Erdoğan's statements. He emphasized the need to strengthen logistics capacity and the desire to crown the progress made in road infrastructure in the past 21 years with rail and maritime transport, aligning with Turkey's goal of carbon neutrality by 2053.

The ceremony was attended by President Erdoğan, as well as Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
