Thyssenkrupp Steel has announced that it will replace its 25-year-old casting rolling line in the Bruckhausen section of its Duisburg plant with a modern hot strip mill and continuous casting line.
A significant modernization effort was started at the end of last year, with an investment of 3 million euros.
The company announced that the old casting line, which has been in operation for more than 25 years and no longer meets today's quality requirements, will be replaced by a modern hot strip mill and continuous casting line.
The project, undertaken by Primetals Technologies, has seen substantial progress with the completion of preparatory excavations and foundation work, while the pre-assembly of various plant components has also begun. Thyssenkrupp aims to have the new facilities operational by May 2025 and to accelerate production.
