German industrial engineering and steel production group ThyssenKrupp is looking for a partner for its steel division, which is in crisis.
The group is reportedly in talks with Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský for the sale of 50% of the steel division. The deal is expected to be finalised by the end of this year. However, both ThyssenKrupp and Daniel Křetínský refused to comment on the issue.
ThyssenKrupp resumed efforts to split its steel division earlier this year. This plan had previously been abandoned after the second largest steelmaker in Europe failed in its efforts to list, sell or find a merger partner.
