The world's largest ship was named "Türkiye"

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), a leader in global maritime container transportation, named its ship with the highest container carrying capacity in the world, built in China, "Türkiye" in memory of the 100th anniversary of the declaration of the republic.

MSC Türkiye has a length of 399.9 meters, a width of 61.3 meters and a depth of 33.5 meters. The ship, which is in the 'Megamax' class, has the capacity to carry 24,346 standard containers at a time.

The story of MSC Group dates back to Captain Gianluigi Aponte, who started the company by founding the MV Patricia, a small cargo ship, in Brussels in 1970. MSC Group currently has a partnership in Asyaport, one of Turkey's leading ports, based in Geneva. The new ship's first port of call will be Asyaport.

MSC is a company that provides logistics services with 675 branches and approximately 180,000 employees in 155 countries around the world. The company has 760 ships in its fleet and carries cargo exceeding 22.5 million TEUs each year.
