The USA nuclear submarine hits an as yet unidentified object in the South China Sea: 15 crew members injured

The USA nuclear submarine USS Connecticut crashed into an unknown object while entering the water in the South China Sea. While 15 crew members were injured during the accident, it did not go unnoticed that the incident occurred at a time when China began to violate Taiwan's airspace with an unprecedented frequency, backed by the USA.

The USA officials said they did not know what the object hit by the submarine was, and that the vehicle was operational and heading towards the US island of Guam. An army spokesman said, "The nuclear power generation part is not damaged and the submarine is able to continue its full functions. The extent of the damage is being assessed. From the US Navy. There was no need to ask for help.” China claims that almost all of the South China Sea is within its territorial waters. The USA, as well as the countries of the region such as the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam, object to this.USS Connecticut was in the region to participate in the exercise that the USA conducted with its allies.

The USA, UK, Japan, Australia, Canada and Netherlands navies are participating in the exercise, which was held weeks after the AUKUS Pact, which was made to balance China's influence in the region. It envisages the transfer of knowledge for the construction of nuclear submarines to Australia. Taiwan's Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday that China was preparing to invade the island by 2025. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said he was "deeply concerned" by tensions in the region.
