The USA Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced that commercial crude oil stocks in the country decreased by 4 million 600 thousand barrels (1.1 percent) last week to 413 million 300 thousand barrels.
Strategic crude oil stocks, which are not included in commercial crude oil stocks, decreased by 300 thousand barrels (0.1 percent) to 593 million 400 thousand barrels. In the said period, US gasoline stocks increased by 8 million barrels (3.4%) to 240 million 700 thousand barrels.
CRUDE OIL IMPORTS INCREASED
The USA's crude oil imports increased by 185 thousand barrels per day on average last week compared to the previous week and reached 6 million 69 thousand barrels, while exports decreased by 599 thousand barrels per day and became 1 million 955 thousand barrels.
The country's daily crude oil production, on the other hand, decreased by 99 thousand barrels in the week of January 1-7, and amounted to approximately 12 million 160 thousand barrels.
According to the EIA's January 2022 Short-Term Energy Outlook Report, the average daily crude oil production of the USA is expected to be 11 million 800 thousand barrels this year and 12 million 400 thousand barrels next year.
