The USA has reached an agreement with the UK after the European Union (EU) and Japan on the customs duty problem for steel and aluminum products, which has been going on since 2018.
The US Department of Commerce said in a statement that the agreement would allow the UK to ship steel and aluminum products to the US in "historically-based sustainable volumes", without the taxes imposed during the Trump era.
The agreement will allow the United States to import 500,000 metric tons of steel from the UK duty-free, while the UK will not retaliate against products exported by the US, such as distilled spirits, various agricultural products and consumer goods worth over $500 million. announced that the tariffs will be lifted.

In 2018, the United States decided to impose tariffs of 25 percent and 10 percent, respectively, on imported steel and aluminum on the grounds of "national security".
