The United Kingdom needs more than 10 million tons of steel in the coming years for new energy projects by 2030.
Tata Steel said that by 2030, more than 5 million tons of steel will be needed to build thousands of offshore wind turbines. Right along with it is also mentioned that approximately 3.5 million tons will be needed for the planned solar and nuclear power plants in the coming years.About 1.5 million tonnes can be used to build infrastructure for projects such as hydrogen production and distribution, large-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) as well as new oil and gas reserves in the North Sea.
Gareth Stace, CEO of the UK Steel industry group, highlights this resource on proposals for the diffusion of energy, including the chance to stimulate the country's economy and steel industry. With the help of British steel, electricity generation in the country will help create green jobs and drive economic growth.
