Erdemir, one of the major steel factories in Turkey, has started the EIA process for establishing six solar power plants in the Başkale and Erciş districts of Van.
For the six solar power plants that Erdemir will establish in Van, which is one of the cities with the highest solar energy efficiency and sunny days in Turkey, three separate EIA files have been prepared. The first project to be established will be the Erdemir-1 GES in Başkale's Erek village.
For the investment, whose EIA process started on April 12th, a private land of 15 hectares was leased and a contract was signed with Vangölü Electricity Distribution Inc. to produce 18 million 700 thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
23,452 panels will be used in the investment, which has a total investment value of 210 million 176 thousand Turkish Lira. For the four power plants to be established in Başkale's Tepebaşı neighborhood, private land was leased again. The file states that a total of 147,550 panels will be used, and an investment of 1 billion 322 million Turkish Lira will be made.
The EIA process for the ERDEMIR-6 GES project, which will be established in Van's Erciş Çatakdibi village, started on April 5th. Erdemir will invest approximately 1.9 billion Turkish Lira for the six solar power plants that it will establish in Van.
