Two earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred in Kahramanmaraş's Pazarcık district and 6.4 magnitude in Gaziantep's Nurdağı district. On the other hand, many earthquakes occurred in Gaziantep and Adıyaman as well as Kahramanmaraş. AFAD announced that as of 06.30, 76 people lost their lives and 440 people were injured in the 7.4-magnitude earthquake in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş.

The 7.4 magnitude earthquake occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers. Kandilli Observatory updated the magnitude of the earthquake to 7.7.
After the earthquake, a big fire broke out in a region in Kahramanmaraş.
Many provinces in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Region, Central Anatolia and the Mediterranean Region were shaken by the earthquake.
AFAD reported that another 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred, the epicenter of which is Gaziantep's Nurdağı district.
An earthquake of 6.5 magnitude occurred in Islahiye district of Gaziantep.

The 6.5 magnitude earthquake occurred at a depth of 9.77 kilometers.
International call for help
In the meetings held with AFAD and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international assistance was called for in the field of urban search and rescue through the ERCC.
In the statement made by the White House, it was announced that US President Joe Biden gave instructions to help the affected areas of the earthquake.
President Erdoğan: All our relevant units are on alert
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated the following in the message he published due to the earthquake:
"I convey my best wishes to all our citizens who were affected by the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and was felt in many parts of our country. All our relevant units are on alert under the coordination of AFAD.
Our search and rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the areas affected by the earthquake. Our Ministry of Interior and Health, AFAD, Governorships and all other institutions started their work rapidly.
We also coordinate the works initiated after the earthquake. We hope that we will overcome this disaster we are experiencing together as soon as possible and with the least damage, and we continue our work."
