The 914-megawatt power plant of Isfahan Mobarake Steel Complex will be fully operational by next year

The 914-megawatt combined cycle power plant at Isfahan Mobarake Steel Complex has made substantial progress, with 614 megawatts now in operation. Another 300 megawatts are expected to be operational by next summer. Similarly, the 600-megawatt solar power plant in eastern Isfahan has also seen significant development, with 40 megawatts already online. An additional 20 megawatts will be added each month, bringing the total to 120 megawatts by the end of this year.

The planning for the 200-megawatt wind power plant in Khaf, part of the Isfahan Mobarake Steel initiative, has been completed, and the project is now in the bidding stage. Around three years ago, Isfahan Mobarake Steel signed a contract for a gas field, and work is underway to bring it into operation. Once functional, this project will not only supply Isfahan Steel’s needs but also provide surplus gas to the national grid. Five years ago, Isfahan Steel expanded into exploration and is currently conducting studies on 71 mineral blocks. However, due to limitations with smaller mines, the company acquired Opal, a mining company, to help meet its requirements.

In the transport sector, Isfahan Mobarake Steel has invested in 50 locomotives to fulfill its logistical needs. Without this investment, the company would have faced significant difficulties. Additionally, over the past two years, the company has developed a comprehensive plan to improve and develop 130 neighboring villages. This initiative focuses on empowering and educating residents, with the goal of encouraging skilled professionals, such as doctors and engineers, who had moved to larger cities due to lack of opportunities, to return to their home villages. As a result of specialized training provided by Isfahan Steel, the crop yield of farmers has increased by 15%.
