Ternium SA strengthens its position in the steel industry in the Americas

Ternium SA, one of the leading players in the steel industry, continues to consolidate its position as one of the leading producers of flat and long steel products with centers in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia and the United States. Ternium's acquisition of major South American steel companies such as Argentina's Siderar, Mexico's Hylsamex and Grupo Imsa strengthened its market dominance.

TERNIUM ARGENTINA SA in Argentina, led by Martín Alberto Berardi, is the country's largest flat-rolled steel producer. The company recently made headlines with the statement "Unlike Superman, Siderar is really made of steel".

Ternium, which owns 60% of Siderar, is at the forefront of steel production, using iron ore and coal to produce a range of products. These include hot and cold rolled steel sheets, as well as hot-dip galvanized, pre-painted and coated products such as tin sheets and coils. The company's galvanized products have an important place in various sectors, finding application in roofing, automotive and infrastructure projects such as highways, railways and airports.
