Dutch prosecutors inspected Tata Steel's IJmuiden plant to investigate whether it was responsible for the deliberate and illegal release of hazardous materials into the soil, air and surface waters.
In the investigation, first announced in February, more than 1,100 people filed complaints against Tata Steel on behalf of the company.
Tata Steel has announced that it will invest €65 million to switch from existing blast furnace technology to hydrogen-based direct reduction plants and electric furnaces by 2030.
