Tata Steel UK has delivered 22 mt of low carbon hot-dip galvanised coil to Boecker Stahl-Service, which will be used to produce cable tray systems for infrastructure projects with lower carbon content. The shipment was supplied with an 85% carbon reduction, equivalent to 45 mt of CO2 savings, Tata Steel UK said in a statement.
Tata Steel UK will deliver more tonnes of low carbon steel, called Optemis Carbon Lite, to Niedax Group in the coming weeks.
The company is working on various projects to reduce CO2 emissions by 30 per cent by 2030 and produce net zero steel by 2045.
Bruno Reufels, CEO of Niedax Group, said: "As one of the leading manufacturers of cable management systems, we have a duty to operate in a more sustainable way and that is why we also invest in such technologies. Overall, we want to reduce the carbon footprint for our own projects and products."
